I am so excited to announce that I am creating a fun Pavilion for Adults & Kids, for two upcoming large festivals coming this June at Ontario Place.

The Mac & Cheese festival is now running in it’s third year! They are the world’s largest Mac & Cheese Festival.
The BBQ Eats festival is a new event and will be showcasing ethnic bbq flavours from around the world.

I will be running the indoor gaming zone for both events. For five tokens each, you can buy the wristbands, and can access all of these activities.

We have some amazing Companies working with us to make this magical for the families. Some of them include: The Medieval Times Knights, Bricks 4 Kidz, Reptilia, A tween spa, a Floof Sandbox, and more!

Burlington residents will have the exciting opportunity to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation when the Canada 150 Mosaic Mural comes to town in May. The Canada 150 Mosaic project brings together 150 communities and thousands of participants to create community murals that celebrate Canada’s unique history and culture. Burlington’s mural will be made of 400 tiles. From May 21 to 22, Burlington residents are invited to paint their own tile that will become part of the mural.

How to Participate:
Drop in to one of the community painting days to paint your tile. Everyone is welcome – you do not need to be an artist to participate. Due to a limited number of mural tiles, the community painting events will operate on a first come, first served basis.

The Canada 150 Mosaic project is led by internationally recognized artists Lewis Lavoie, Paul Lavoie and Phil Alain. To follow the mural’s progress across Canada, visit the Canada 150 Mosaic website. The Burlington mural for the Canada 150 Mosaic project will be unveiled at the Music Centre on July 1.

Imagination comes to life this Victoria Day at Celebration Square. Kids of all ages can live out their wildest dreams at this larger-than-life event for the whole family.

There’s lots to do, including: Step on up to the podium and take your turn to conduct an orchestra. Keep the dancefloor jumping by playing DJ for our silent disco. Put on a costume and play all afternoon in our tiny town. See the world from inside a giant bubble at a bubble show. Cool down in the City’s biggest splash pad. Take in a story in the shade of the giant book on the Square.

CBC’s Nana Aba Duncan will host this afternoon of adventure, and Bookaboo will be here to share story-time at 12:45pm and 2:15pm.

The land on which Henry House sits had been in the family for almost 100 years. Construction of the house took place circa 1840 by members of the Henry family and lived in by Thomas, his wife Lurenda and ten of their youngest children. When the family was no longer living in the home it was taken up by the Lakeview Park caretakers and finally became a Museum in 1960.

On this long weekend in May, we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Oshawa Historical Society and the opening of Henry House as a Museum with 50¢ admission – the same as it was in 1960!

Henry House and its Heritage Gardens will be open for tours on Monday May 22, from 12 – 4 pm. Museum staff will be on hand in period costume to answer questions, and garden tours will be available.

Only Henry House will be open this afternoon. Guy House and Robinson House as well as Henry House will be open on Sunday May 21 from 12 – 4 pm. Admission is by donation.
