The Woodbridge Village Farmers’ Market is a friendly, big hearted market located on the northwest corner of Hwy #7 and Islington Ave., at the Woodbridge Pool & Memorial Arena parking lot. Our local farmer vendors are passionate about their produce. Our volunteers are always there to help with the many special events. It’s a fun place for friends to meet and families to come Saturday mornings. Our Kid’s Club includes creative crafts and engaging activities weekly. This will be our 8th year of operation. One of the main reasons we exist is to encourage our community to buy locally grown and harvested IN SEASON conventional and organic vegetables and fruit. The 28th Annual Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival will be starting on June 18th & 19th, 2016. From the humble beginning of only 27 teams participating in the first festival back in 1989, the Festival has evolved to a much bigger operation over the past two decades.
Organized by the Toronto Chinese Business Association and Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival, the Festival in 2016 will once again expect 180 to 200 teams with over 5,000 athletes.
In 2016, as the Festival celebrates its 28th year, it promises to continue to be one of the most exciting summer events in Toronto. Once again this year, the Festival will welcome teams from all provinces across Canada, from the U.S., the Caribbean Islands, Europe and Asia.

Native Men’s Residence Traditional Pow Wow is held to recognize National Aboriginal Day on the Summer Solstice. The event features traditional dancing, drumming, kid’s area, craft vendors, and a full feast after the dancing. Seven Aboriginal drum groups will be on hand, including host drum Chippewa Travelers and co-host drum Big Train. Over 100 traditional dancers are expected to participate including head dancers Tee Lyn Copenance and Mike Healy. The day begins with a sunrise ceremony at 6 a.m., the Grand Entry takes place at 12 p.m., and the community feast will begin shortly after 4:30 p.m. The Pow Wow will be followed by a gala concert as part of the Indigenous Arts Festival @ Fort York featuring the legendary Derek Miller and more.
